Who Am I?

My practice is based in Newton le Willows with a client profile that typically covers St Helens, Warrington, Wigan, Liverpool, Widnes and Ormskirk as well as other outlying areas of the Merseyside, Cheshire and Greater Manchester regions. There is ample free parking to the rear of the office on Fairclough Street Car Park. Adjacent to the car park is Earlestown railway station (2-minute walk away) and there are a number of bus routes that stop close by to the front of the offices. I am registered with all of the main UK counselling and  psychotherapy directories. Please click on below to read my profiles:-

I believe that whatever the situation, being given the opportunity to talk over and explore area s of concern in an empathic and non-judgemental way often helps clients to move forward or find their own resolution. I offer a warm and confidential approach; providing clients the space to explore their feelings in a supportive environment. I am an Integrative Counsellor which means that I am qualified in a number of counselling techniques.

This includes the five main acknowledged areas of practice:-

  • Person Centred Counselling
  • Psychodynamic Counselling
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Solution Focussed Brief Therapy
  • Transactional Analysis.

It is my experience that each client is unique and so having the flexibility to adopt one or a combination of methods is more productive. For a brief explanation of each of these therapeutic approaches please select 'Frequently Asked Questions' from the menu above..

From counselling in private practice and working as a co-worker for a number of Self Help Groups, I have been privileged to work with individuals facing a number of different issues (including anger management, anxiety, confidence issues, depression, bereavement, eating disorders, grief and loss, relationship issues and self-esteem) and have witnessed counselling to be a really positive and empowering experience for many. It provides an opportunity to explore personal matters and to spend some time thinking about how you feel and what you want.

Whatever you are facing at the moment, being able to talk and feel listened to; being given the time and space to explore and reflect on how it feels for you; on how it feels to be you without the fear of being judged or criticised often proves to be a powerful, beneficial experience.

I offer a 45 minute Consultation session that is free of  obligation. The fee for the Consultation is £25.
